Award-winning lighting design for architecture, heritage and the public realm.
I am a Chartered Engineer and Principal Lighting Designer with more than 14 years’ experience in artificial, daylight, architectural and environmental lighting. I lead multidisciplinary teams through complex projects — across transport, healthcare, education, heritage and public realm — delivering innovative, sustainable and performance-driven design.
Recent projects
A selection of recent schemes — from transport infrastructure to landmark architecture.
Heatherwood Hospital
Calm, human-centred light for a new elective care hospital.
Lighting design for Frimley Health’s new elective care hospital at Heatherwood. A calm, daylight-led scheme supports recovery and intuitive wayfinding — from the Parkside suite and bedrooms through to clinical and public spaces — balancing low-energy performance with a warm, non-institutional feel.
Glasgow Queen Street Station
A light-filled gateway for one of Scotland’s busiest stations.
Lighting for the transformed Queen Street Station — a vast glazed façade and expanded concourse where daylight does the daytime work and an integrated artificial scheme takes over after dark, balancing passenger wayfinding, heritage frontages and the station’s civic presence in the heart of Glasgow.
Alliance Manchester Business School
A feature-lit learning landmark on Oxford Road.
Architectural and daylight-integrated lighting for the University of Manchester’s flagship business school. Suspended luminaire ‘reeds’ animate the full-height atria and stairs, while a carefully balanced scheme across the library and learning floors blends generous daylight with low-energy artificial light.
Award-winning work
Industry recognition across infrastructure, heritage and the lighting profession.
Light, made to perform.
I combine a strategic focus on energy efficiency with an in-depth understanding of British Standards, industry guidance and regulatory frameworks. Highly skilled in Revit (BIM) and DIALux, I lead teams from concept through detailed and technical design — and I help shape the direction and professional development of the lighting capability around me.
